Does BMW Leak Engine Oil?
1 Answers
BMW does leak engine oil. The reasons may include damage to the valve cover gasket, radiator seal gasket, or oil filter base seal gasket. Valve Cover Gasket Damage: Oil leakage can occur if the valve cover gasket is not tightly sealed. In this case, simply replacing the gasket will suffice. Oil leakage from the front and rear crankshaft oil seals is common. If both seals are leaking, replace both the front and rear seals. If only the front seal is leaking, replacing the front seal alone is sufficient. Radiator Seal Gasket Damage: Oil leakage caused by an improperly sealed radiator gasket can be resolved by replacing the gasket. Oil Filter Base Seal Gasket Damage: Generally, engine oil leakage is due to aging gaskets, which significantly increases the likelihood of oil leaks. If the oil filter base seal is not tightly sealed, replacing the gasket will usually fix the issue.
