Bentley does have sports cars, and its sports car model is the Bentley Continental, a front-engine, all-wheel-drive, 2-door, 4-seater sports car. There are currently 11 models of the Bentley Continental available for sale, all of which meet the China VI emission standards. The body dimensions are 4850mm in length, 1954mm in width, and 1399mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2851mm. In terms of power, the Bentley Continental is equipped with 4.0T and 6.0T engines. The 4.0T engine delivers a maximum output of 388 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 680 Newton-meters, while the 6.0T engine produces a maximum output of 467 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 900 Newton-meters. Both engine versions are paired with either an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission.

When it comes to Bentley, the Continental GT is the sports car I admire the most. This car is literally a moving piece of luxury art—it's nothing like the harsh ride of ordinary sports cars. Sitting inside feels like entering the first-class cabin of a private jet, with full leather upholstery and hand-stitched seams. The most impressive part is the 6.0-liter W12 engine, which delivers 635 horsepower with just a light tap on the accelerator. There’s also a more fuel-efficient 4.0-liter V8 version now, equipped with a 48V active anti-roll bar that makes cornering as stable as a rail car. During a test drive on the mountain roads of Guizhou, the car showed almost no body roll even through consecutive hairpin turns, thanks to its incredibly smart all-wheel-drive power distribution system.

The other day, I test drove the Bentley Continental GT at Shenzhen Bay. This car doesn't drive like a 5-meter-long behemoth at all. The steering wheel is surprisingly light yet precise in direction, and the air suspension filters out vibrations completely when going over speed bumps. The most impressive feature is the active torque vectoring system, which intelligently distributes power to all four wheels when accelerating out of corners. The optional Naim audio system even lets you hear the subtle sounds of violin strings being bowed, and the 12.3-inch central control screen can flip on three sides. The oval exhaust outlets at the rear produce a deep, refined sound when revving, perfectly matching the elegant temperament of a luxury GT.

As a century-old luxury brand, Bentley's tradition of building sports cars dates back much earlier than many people think. Dominating the Le Mans circuit in the 1920s, those two-seater race cars are now worth astronomical sums. The modern Continental series retains racing technologies, such as an all-aluminum body that reduces weight by 400 kg. During one disassembly, I observed its three-dimensional frame structure, with key areas reinforced using aerospace-grade titanium alloy. The 3.0-liter V6 hybrid version, paired with an electric motor, enables this two-and-a-half-ton car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds, with a pure electric range of 40 km. The craftsmanship of cutting crystal for the headlights requires 15 hours of manual polishing—no wonder it's called an athlete in a suit.
