Does Antifreeze Get Consumed?

Antifreeze does get consumed over time. It is considered a consumable item, and under continuous high temperatures, some degree of evaporation is inevitable. Additionally, antifreeze loss can occur due to leaks. Damaged radiator gaskets, overflow tanks, loose connections at the water pump interface, or other cooling system pipe fittings may lead to antifreeze leakage. In such cases, it is essential to visit the nearest auto repair shop promptly for repairs. Insufficient antifreeze can have varying degrees of negative effects. If the antifreeze level is too low (below the MIN mark), the cooling efficiency will be significantly reduced. This can easily lead to overheating (excessive temperature) during high-speed operation, and the viscosity of the engine oil will also decrease. Over time, this can cause wear and tear on engine components.
