Does a 15-year-old vehicle require on-site inspection in 2021?

A 15-year-old vehicle needs to undergo on-site inspection after the annual inspection validity period expires in 2021. For new vehicles within 6 years, they are exempt from inspection twice. At the 6th and 8th years, the vehicle must undergo on-site inspection. For private cars over 10 years old, those between 10 and 15 years require annual inspection once a year, while those over 15 years require inspection every six months. The new regulations include non-operational mini and small passenger vehicles with 7 to 9 seats (excluding vans) within 6 years in the exemption scope. Here is additional information: Article 15 of the "Regulations for the Implementation of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China" states that motor vehicle safety technical inspections shall be conducted by motor vehicle safety technical inspection institutions. Motor vehicle safety technical inspection institutions shall inspect motor vehicles in accordance with national motor vehicle safety technical inspection standards and bear legal responsibility for the inspection results.
