Do I still need to go to the vehicle management office after applying for the six-year exemption inspection online?

After applying for the six-year exemption inspection online, you do not need to go to the vehicle management office to handle it. For motor vehicles exempt from on-site inspection, after applying for the exemption inspection through the mobile app "Traffic Management 12123", they can be used directly. Motor vehicles exempt from on-site inspection for six years need to complete the procedures in the second and fourth years of use. Vehicle models eligible for the 6-year exemption inspection policy: Non-operational large, small, and micro cars, as well as non-operational small and micro passenger vehicles. The term "non-operational" in this measure does not include: police vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances, engineering rescue vehicles, converted non-operational vehicles, converted non-operational taxis, two-wheeled motorcycles, and three-wheeled motorcycles. Starting from November 20, 2020, non-operational small and micro passenger vehicles with 7-9 seats (excluding minivans) are included in the exemption inspection scope. Vehicles not eligible for the 6-year exemption inspection policy: Vehicles that have not been registered for more than 4 years since the date of manufacture are not eligible for the 6-year exemption inspection policy.
I just got a new car not long ago, so I'm quite familiar with this. During the six-year exemption period, I applied for the exemption mark online, for example, by filling out a form on the Traffic Management 12123 APP and uploading a photo of the vehicle registration. Once approved, the electronic mark automatically takes effect in the system, completely eliminating the need to visit the vehicle management office. It's really convenient. I remember when applying, you must ensure the license plate and owner information are correct to avoid input errors that could lead to rejection. If not processed in time and it expires, you'd have to undergo a supplementary inspection, which is quite troublesome. Overall, the policy is designed to make things easier for us young car owners, allowing us to run fewer errands and enjoy life more. Just quickly confirm the application status, maintain the car's condition, and regularly check things like tires and brakes, and you can drive worry-free. Don't procrastinate on these small matters—it could cause unnecessary trouble.
