Do I still need to buy a phone holder if I have CarPlay?

You don't need to buy a phone holder if you have CarPlay. Your phone can be mirrored to the car's display. Introduction to CarPlay: CarPlay is an in-car system released by Apple Inc. in the US, which seamlessly integrates users' iOS devices and iOS user experience with the dashboard system. Interfaces supported by CarPlay: CarPlay only supports iPhones with Lightning connectors. Although iPads also support this interface, Apple has not included iPads as hardware devices supported by CarPlay. On June 13, 2016, Apple announced at the WWDC developer conference that its smart car system CarPlay would be updated along with iOS 10, becoming the perfect partner for the new version of Apple Maps and Siri.
I've been using CarPlay for quite a while while driving. At first, I thought the central control screen could handle functions like navigation, calls, and music, making a phone holder completely unnecessary. However, I later realized that there are special situations where having one as a backup is helpful, such as when the phone needs to display apps other than navigation separately or when charging ports are insufficient—then the holder comes in handy. Moreover, during long trips, passengers find it much more comfortable to operate their phones when placed on a holder rather than holding them. I recommend choosing a magnetic phone holder; it doesn’t block the view and is sturdy, after all, safe driving is the top priority, and having an extra preparation never hurts.
