Whether to replace the license after the probation period: No. What materials are needed to replace the driver's license after expiration: A duly filled "Motor Vehicle Driver's License Application Form", the original "Physical Condition Certificate for Motor Vehicle Drivers" issued by a county-level or above medical institution designated by the Municipal Health Bureau, the original and a copy of the applicant's identity document (if handled by an agent, the original and a copy of the agent's identity document must also be submitted). Residents temporarily residing in the city should submit a residence or temporary residence permit issued by the public security authority in addition to their ID card, the original motor vehicle driver's license, and 3 photos of the driver (recent, front-facing, full-color, half-length, one-inch photos with a white background and no hat). Validity period of the driver's license: If the motor vehicle driver has not accumulated 12 penalty points in any scoring cycle during the six-year validity period of the driver's license, the license will be replaced with a ten-year validity period. If the driver has not accumulated 12 penalty points in any scoring cycle during the ten-year validity period, the license will be replaced with a long-term valid driver's license.
