Do I need to replace my driver's license after the one-year probationary period?

There is no need to replace your driver's license after the probationary period expires, as the issuance date of your license is recorded by the traffic management authorities. The probationary status will automatically be lifted upon completion without requiring a visit to the vehicle management office for replacement. According to international traffic regulations, drivers are not allowed to drive on highways during the probationary period. If caught doing so, you will face penalty points and fines. Probationary period penalty point regulations: 1. Based on the severity of traffic violations, penalty points can be 12, 6, 3, 2, or 1 point. If multiple violations occur simultaneously, points will be calculated separately and accumulated. 2. Apart from the probationary period, if a driver accumulates 12 penalty points within a scoring cycle, they must attend a seven-day traffic safety law and regulation education program within 15 days at the issuing authority or where the violation occurred. After completing the education, the driver must pass a written test (Subject 1) within 20 days at the vehicle management office.
