In 2020, if non-local license plate vehicles (including temporary license plate vehicles) need to enter roads within the Sixth Ring Road, they must apply for a Beijing entry permit. During weekday morning and evening peak hours (7:00-9:00 and 17:00-20:00), driving is prohibited on the main roads, auxiliary roads, and roads within the Fifth Ring Road. From 9:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, vehicles must comply with the city's tail number restriction regulations, with the restricted area being the main roads, auxiliary roads, and roads within the Fifth Ring Road. The following vehicles are prohibited from entering within the Sixth Ring Road at all times: non-local freight motor vehicles, low-speed trucks, and tricycles. The following vehicles are prohibited from driving within the administrative area of Beijing at all times: construction waste trucks and muck transport vehicles, concrete mixer trucks, sand and gravel transport vehicles, and hazardous chemical transport vehicles.
