Do Cars Need to Change to Antifreeze Engine Oil in Winter?
1 Answers
Winter does not require changing to antifreeze engine oil. Engine Oil: As the lifeblood of the engine, engine oil serves multiple functions, including assisting in cooling, sealing to prevent leaks, and preventing rust and corrosion. Engine Oil Replacement Cycle: The replacement cycle for fully synthetic engine oil is 10,000 kilometers or about one year, while semi-synthetic engine oil should be replaced every 7,500 kilometers or approximately 6-8 months. Mineral oil needs replacement every 5,000 kilometers or about half a year. Besides being replaced based on environmental conditions, engine oil should also be changed regularly. Over time, its functional characteristics degrade, leading to deterioration. If not replaced promptly, it cannot lubricate or clean the engine, causing more severe wear on internal components, shortening their lifespan, and adversely affecting engine performance.
