Do Automatic Transmissions Need Gear Shifting?

Automatic transmission vehicles do not require gear shifting during normal driving, but some special road conditions necessitate it. Special gear usage scenarios are as follows: 1. When accelerating to overtake: The D gear may be sluggish during rapid acceleration for overtaking, requiring the use of manual or S gear mode for stronger power. 2. When controlling speed downhill: The D gear may cause acceleration due to gravity when going downhill, requiring manual or S gear with "+-" to lock a lower gear for engine braking and speed reduction. 3. When going uphill: Due to the lower shift RPM of the D gear (around 2000 RPM), insufficient power may occur on steep slopes. In such cases, manual or S gear mode can be used to lock in first or second gear for high-torque climbing to prevent rolling back.
