The differences between direct injection and dual injection are as follows: 1. Different engine systems. The most critical system of a direct injection engine is the high-pressure fuel injection system, which mainly consists of four parts: the Engine Control Module (ECM), high-pressure fuel rail, high-pressure fuel pump, and fuel injectors. A dual injection engine incorporates both direct injection and port injection systems. 2. Different fuel injection methods. Direct injection directly injects fuel into the cylinder to mix with the air, while dual injection combines the advantages of port injection and direct injection. Under low-load conditions, the port injector sprays fuel during the intake stroke, allowing the air-fuel mixture to enter the cylinder, and then the cylinder injector sprays fuel during the compression stroke to achieve stratified combustion. Under high-load conditions, only direct injection is performed during the compression stroke, improving engine efficiency and avoiding emission issues caused by excess oxygen in low-load conditions with direct injection. 3. Different costs. Due to integrating both direct injection and port injection systems, dual injection engines have two sets of fuel pumps and fuel supply lines, making them significantly more expensive than direct injection engines.
