No, you generally cannot use GM points (officially called MyRewards points) toward the purchase of a used car. These points are designed as a loyalty incentive for new vehicle purchases, specific services, and accessories at participating GM dealerships. The program's terms and conditions explicitly restrict their use for acquiring used vehicles, regardless of whether they are GM-branded or not.

MyRewards points are accrued through activities like buying a new GM vehicle, using a GM credit card, or participating in promotional events. Their primary utility is to reduce the cost of owning and maintaining a new GM product. You can typically use them for:

  • New Vehicle Down Payment/Purchase: Applying points toward the purchase or lease of a new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, or Cadillac.
  • Parts and Service: Covering costs for oil changes, tire rotations, brakes, and other maintenance at a GM dealership.
  • Accessories: Purchasing genuine GM accessories for your vehicle.

While you can't use the points for the used car itself, if you already own a GM vehicle and have a points balance, you could use those points to pay for maintenance or repairs on the used car you end up buying. However, this is an indirect benefit and requires the service to be performed at a participating GM dealership.

The most reliable approach is to check your points balance and redemption options directly through the MyRewards portal or by speaking with the finance manager at your local GM dealership. They can provide the most current and specific information based on your account.

Nope, that's a no-go. I learned this the hard way when I tried to use the points I got from my last Silverado purchase on a used Tahoe. The dealer said the points are only for new rides or for fixing up your current one. It's a bummer, but it makes sense for them—they want to lock you into another new car. Your best bet is to use those points for your next oil change or some new tires instead.

What does 3-zone mean on an Audi car's air conditioning?

Audi's 3-zone refers to the three-zone air conditioning switch equipped in the car, which divides the air conditioning airflow into multiple different zones. Simply put, passengers in different positions of the car can experience different air conditioning temperatures and airflow levels. Since everyone's sensitivity to temperature varies, this is the reason why 3-zone was developed. Additional Information: 1. Function Introduction: This setup provides a more comfortable environment for both drivers and passengers. Some children or elderly individuals may not be able to tolerate strong cold air or low temperatures. The purpose of zoning is to accommodate the needs of passengers in each area, ensuring no one has to compromise for others. Everyone can freely control the air conditioning's wind speed and temperature within their own space. 2. Working Principle: The three-zone air conditioning system increases the number of air conditioning dampers to create more and finer air ducts. Each mixing damper in the three-zone air conditioning is controlled by multiple independent controllers. The air passes through several mixing dampers and is directed into different ducts, resulting in varying airflow levels. The intuitive effect is that the air conditioning temperature feels different in each zone.

How many kilometers after the first maintenance should the next maintenance be performed?

The first maintenance should be performed after driving 5,000 to 7,500 kilometers. The maintenance items include replacing the three filters and engine oil. The three filters consist of the oil filter, air filter, and fuel filter. Their function is to filter impurities in the engine oil, air, and fuel, preventing these impurities from entering the engine and affecting its normal operation. Regularly replacing these components can effectively extend the engine's service life. According to relevant regulations: the vehicle owner has the right to independently choose a maintenance service provider. Except for automobile manufacturers fulfilling the responsibilities of defective vehicle recalls and the three-guarantee policy for vehicle quality, no unit or individual may force or covertly force the designation of a maintenance service provider.

How to Turn Off the Automatic Headlights on the Vezel?

Method to disable the automatic headlights on the Vezel: There is an AUTO marking on the headlight switch, simply rotate it to OFF to turn off. When the combination light switch is turned to the AUTO position, the automatic headlight function activates. Automatic headlights are a feature installed by some manufacturers for driver convenience, incorporating a photosensitive control system in the headlights. When this system detects that external light intensity exceeds or falls below a certain threshold, the car's headlights will automatically turn on or off. The Vezel is GAC Honda's first compact SUV, equipped with a 1.5L direct-injection engine delivering a maximum power of 96 kW and peak torque of 155 Nm. Its body dimensions are 4328mm in length, 1772mm in width, and 1605mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2610mm.

Can You Change the Oil Without Replacing the Filter?

You cannot change the oil without replacing the filter. The filter's role is to remove impurities from the engine oil. Over time, these impurities can cause blockages. Additionally, a certain amount of oil remains inside the filter. If you only change the oil without replacing the filter, the new oil will mix with the old oil, reducing the oil's lifespan. Engine oil, also known as engine lubricant, serves multiple functions such as lubrication, reducing friction, aiding in cooling, sealing against leaks, preventing rust and corrosion, and acting as a shock absorber. It is often referred to as the 'blood' of a car. The oil filter, or oil purifier, filters out debris, sludge, and moisture from the oil, ensuring clean oil is delivered to all lubrication points.

Can the car still be driven when it displays an oil change reminder?

When the car displays an oil change reminder, it can still be driven. The oil change prompt is a maintenance cycle reminder preset by the manufacturer, simply notifying the owner that the vehicle requires servicing. However, the distance driven after the oil change reminder should not be too long, as prolonged driving without changing the oil may cause damage to the vehicle. Generally, the maintenance cycle for most vehicles is every 5,000 kilometers or six months, though the recommended interval may vary depending on the brand and model. Engine oil, also known as engine lubricant, serves multiple functions such as lubrication, reducing friction, aiding in cooling, sealing against leaks, preventing rust and corrosion, and acting as a shock absorber. It is often referred to as the 'lifeblood' of a car.

What is Audi's Driver Assistance System?

Audi's driver assistance system is centered around adaptive cruise control with stop & go functionality, which is an automatic distance-keeping system for following vehicles. Within a speed range of 0 to 250 km/h, this system controls the vehicle's speed and the distance to the vehicle ahead by automatically accelerating or braking. Additional Information: 1. Stop & Go Function: The core of Audi's driver assistance system is adaptive cruise control with stop & go functionality, an automatic distance-keeping system for following vehicles. Within a speed range of 0 to 250 km/h, this system controls the vehicle's speed and the distance to the vehicle ahead by automatically accelerating or braking. 2. How It Works: The system operates using two radar sensors installed at the front of the vehicle (which automatically heat up in cold conditions). These sensors emit radar waves at a frequency of 76.5 GHz, covering a field of view of approximately 40 degrees and a fan-shaped area up to 250 meters long. The sensor control unit processes the signals to monitor conditions ahead of the car. The driver can influence the ACC system's functionality, adjusting the following distance and the intervention intensity of the control system in stages—from sporty to comfortable. The system's maximum deceleration is limited to about 4 m/s², roughly one-third of the maximum possible deceleration. In stop-and-go traffic, the ACC system can automatically reduce speed until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. After brief stops, such as at traffic lights, the car automatically restarts and follows the vehicle ahead. For longer stops, the driver must press the accelerator or operate the control lever to resume following. Before restarting, the system checks image data provided by the camera on the interior rearview mirror.
