Whether you can turn left at a round light depends on the situation. When the round green light is on: You can turn left, but you must yield to oncoming traffic. However, if there is a no-left-turn sign at the intersection, you cannot turn left under any circumstances. When the round red light is on: You cannot turn left at any time. According to Article 38 of the 'Regulations for the Implementation of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China': When the green light is on, vehicles are permitted to proceed, but turning vehicles must not impede the passage of vehicles or pedestrians going straight; when the yellow light is on, vehicles that have already crossed the stop line may continue to proceed; when the red light is on, vehicles are prohibited from proceeding.
