Can You Make a U-Turn When Turning?

You do not have to make a U-turn when turning. Below is relevant information about vehicle turning: 1. Road regulations: The "Implementation Regulations of the Road Traffic Safety Law" provide a relatively vague legal definition of "U-turns," with only about a hundred words on the matter: Motor vehicles are not allowed to make U-turns at locations with no-U-turn or no-left-turn signs or markings, as well as at railway crossings, pedestrian crosswalks, bridges, sharp curves, steep slopes, tunnels, or sections of road prone to danger. Motor vehicles are prohibited from making U-turns at locations with no-U-turn or no-left-turn signs or markings. At locations without such prohibitions, U-turns are permitted, but they must not obstruct the normal passage of other vehicles. 2. Motor vehicle registration documents: Proof of identity of the vehicle owner; proof of origin of the motor vehicle, such as the purchase invoice; the motor vehicle's factory qualification certificate or import documentation for imported vehicles; proof of payment or exemption for vehicle purchase tax; and, for models not exempt from safety inspections as specified by the competent authority under the State Council, a motor vehicle safety inspection certificate must also be provided.
