Can Washer Fluid Be Replaced with Tap Water?

Washer fluid cannot be replaced with tap water because the composition of washer fluid and tap water is different. If the washer fluid in the car runs out, the owner should immediately replace it with new washer fluid. Ordinary tap water contains many impurities. Over time, these impurities can adhere to the rubber pipes, clogging them and affecting normal spraying. Long-term use of tap water may increase friction between the glass surface and the wiper blades, causing scratches on the glass. Plain water can only clean dust superficially and lacks the ability to thoroughly remove dirt or insect residues on the windshield. The wiper is a blade-like structure installed in front of the windshield, composed of a motor, reducer, four-bar linkage, wiper arm spindle, and wiper blade assembly.
