Can Vehicle Purchase Tax Be Paid on Saturdays and Sundays?

In most locations, vehicle purchase tax generally cannot be paid on weekends. It is usually only payable during normal working days from Monday to Friday, though a few places may allow payment on weekends. According to the "Interim Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Vehicle Purchase Tax," the tax rate is 10%. Typically, the taxable amount is calculated based on the vehicle's purchase invoice price (or the minimum taxable price determined by the State Taxation Administration), excluding value-added tax, and then taxed at a 10% rate. Passenger vehicles with an engine displacement of 1.6 liters or below are eligible for a reduced tax rate of 5%, whether they are domestically produced or imported. Passenger vehicles eligible for the tax reduction policy are those primarily designed and technically intended for transporting passengers and their personal belongings or temporary items, with no more than nine seats including the driver's seat. New energy vehicles that meet the criteria specified in the "Announcement on Exempting New Energy Vehicles from Vehicle Purchase Tax" issued by the Ministry of Finance, State Taxation Administration, and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology are exempt from vehicle purchase tax.
