Can the rearview mirror heating be modified?

Rearview mirror heating can be modified. However, the wiring must comply with safety standards and should not interfere with other critical driving circuits. Normally, if there is a need to retrofit heated mirrors, it is best to have a professional handle the installation. Principle of rearview mirror heating: The mirror lenses on both sides are equipped with heating elements (heating films). During rainy or snowy weather, when the driver activates the rearview mirror heating function, these heating elements quickly warm up to a set temperature (typically between 35-60°C) within minutes, effectively defogging and defrosting the mirrors. Rearview mirror heating switch: Knob-type switch: Located on the driver's side door, there is a knob with several symbols—L, 0, R, and a heating symbol (depicted as a square frame containing three upward-curving arrows). Turning the knob to the heating symbol activates the rearview mirror heating function. Button-type switch: Found on the control panel, it features the same square frame with three upward-curving arrows. Pressing the button turns on the rearview mirror heating function.
