Can the rear seats of the Hyundai Elantra be folded down?

The rear seats of the Hyundai Elantra cannot be folded down. In terms of configuration, the Elantra continues the Korean car brand's tradition of high specifications, featuring practical configurations such as front seat heating, a rearview camera, tire pressure monitoring, electric folding mirrors, and rear air vents. However, some configurations are only available in the top-tier model. The Elantra is a compact car launched by Beijing Hyundai, measuring 4542 mm in length, 1775 mm in width, and 1490 mm in height, with a fuel tank capacity of 52 liters, a trunk capacity of 475 liters, and a curb weight of 1236 kg. The Elantra is equipped with a 1.6L naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum power of 90.4 kW.
My Elantra was purchased two years ago, and the rear seats can indeed be folded down entirely. The operation is quite simple—just find the two small pull straps in the trunk and give them a firm tug to lay the seatbacks flat. I don’t use this feature often, but it’s incredibly handy when moving bulky items—last month, I helped a neighbor transport a washing machine, and it fit perfectly. The only downside is that the seats can’t be folded separately, meaning you can’t carry large items if someone is sitting in the back. I always have to clear the rear seats before folding them down; once, I almost crushed my child’s backpack by forgetting to remove it. The newer models seem to support split-folding, which makes me, as an older owner, a bit envious.
