Can the Lingpai Hybrid get a green license plate?

The Honda Lingpai Hybrid model has a pure electric range of less than 150 kilometers, which does not meet the conditions for obtaining a green license plate in China. Hybrid vehicles can get green license plates, but it depends on the specific model. Some hybrid vehicles cannot obtain green plates. Hybrid models are divided into plug-in hybrids and range-extended hybrids. Only plug-in hybrid models with a pure electric range of over 150 kilometers meet the requirements for new energy license plates. Common examples include BYD's Tang DM, BMW 5 Series Le models, and other hybrid vehicles that meet the above conditions. These not only qualify for green license plates but also enjoy certain national subsidy policies, although the subsidies are slightly lower than those for pure electric vehicles. On the other hand, models like the Toyota Corolla Hybrid, Honda Hybrid, and Buick Hybrid, which are not plug-in hybrid systems, are considered energy-efficient vehicles and do not fall under the new energy vehicle category, so they cannot get green license plates. Generally, pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid models can obtain green license plates. Green license plates are exclusive to new energy vehicles and are specially designed by the government for easier differentiation and management, helping to quickly distinguish between traditional fuel vehicles and new energy vehicles.
I've also been considering buying a car recently and have researched the Lingpai Hybrid. Actually, this model can't get a green license plate. It's a traditional hybrid, the HEV type, which only saves fuel through gasoline and energy recovery, without a plug-in interface for external charging. China's green license plate policy mainly targets new energy vehicles, such as pure electric or plug-in hybrids, which must meet a certain pure electric range to qualify. Hybrids like the Lingpai that don't plug in aren't included in the new energy catalog, so they can't get green plates in most cities. If you really want to save fuel and enjoy the convenience of green plates for traffic restrictions, I recommend looking at Honda's plug-in hybrid models like the CR-V Plug-in Hybrid, or some of BYD's series. These cars have plug-in functionality and are easier to license, with decent prices. Saving fuel after buying a car is good, but missing out on the privileges of a green plate is a bit regrettable.
