X-Trail headlight cover shell can be replaced. Automotive headlight cover: Most automotive headlight covers are made of polycarbonate (PC) or polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) plastic through injection molding. Over time, they are prone to aging, yellowing, and may develop cracks, which can affect vehicle lighting. Shell replacement: Open the front hood of the car, locate the bulb, and take a photo to record the installation of the headlight; then forcefully pull out the bulb power cord with the blue coil. The blue circle indicates the lamp holder, which requires a bit of force. Directly pull it out to expose the lamp tail. The metal handle in the red circle is the handle to release the metal clip of the bulb; at this point, you can see how the power cord is pulled out. Be sure to pull out the lamp holder first, then release the metal clip handle of the bulb; press down in the direction of the blue arrow without letting go, then push to the right to loosen the headlight clip. Once loosened, directly pull out the bulb; afterward, open the box of the newly purchased bulb and install the new bulb.
I've been doing car DIY myself, and the headlight cover of the X-Trail can definitely be replaced. Last time my headlight cover cracked, I bought a new housing. The process isn't actually difficult, but you need to be careful. First, use a wrench to remove the front bumper screws, then slowly take out the entire headlight assembly. After that, remove the old cover in a clean area, clean it thoroughly, and install the new one—remember to use sealant to ensure waterproofing.
