Can the front windshield of BMW X6 display speed?

BMW X6 front windshield can display speed. Vehicle speed calculation: The speedometer uses the measurement signal from the speed sensor to calculate and display the vehicle speed. There are two methods for calculating speed: one is to count the number of pulses output by the sensor within a fixed time, and the other is to measure the time taken for a fixed pulse cycle. In the pulse counting method, when the microprocessor detects an increase in the number of pulses from the sensor signal, it starts counting the pulses representing the vehicle speed. After detecting the number of pulses over a preset time, the data in the counter is compared with the data in memory. If the difference reaches one kilometer per hour or more, the counter's data is output to the display circuit to refresh the displayed value, and this process is continuously repeated. How to display speed: Turn on the head-up display function using the button on the lower left of the steering wheel.
I've been driving the BMW X6 for several years, and the windshield indeed displays speed information, all thanks to BMW's Head-Up Display technology. While driving, the speed numbers are projected directly onto the glass, appearing as if floating in mid-air. I can keep my eyes on the road ahead and just glance at the speed without needing to look down at the dashboard. This is especially useful on highways or in poor weather conditions, such as rainy or foggy days, where the projection remains clear and bright, preventing accidents caused by distraction. Higher-end models can even integrate navigation arrows, providing real-time turn directions, making trips more effortless. Setting it up is simple—just adjust the brightness via the steering wheel menu. Although this feature is usually an optional extra and may come at a slightly higher cost, considering the enhanced safety and driving focus it provides, I believe it's a worthwhile investment. For daily driving, this projection display makes my experience safer and more efficient, especially on long trips where it reduces fatigue.
