Can the Exhaust Brake Be Used for a Long Time?

Exhaust brakes should not be used continuously for extended periods. Each use should be intermittent, with pauses of about 5 seconds, otherwise, it may damage the valves. Method of using the exhaust brake: 1. Move the lever backward to the first gear, activating engine braking in 4 cylinders, generating 66% of the engine braking power; 2. Then move the lever to the second gear, activating engine braking in 6 cylinders, achieving 100% engine braking power; 3. The exhaust brake is an auxiliary braking device used during prolonged downhill driving to assist the brakes by utilizing engine exhaust braking. The exhaust brake switch is located on the wiper lever and is widely used in large diesel vehicles. A regulating valve is installed on the engine exhaust pipe, and by closing this valve, the pressure in the exhaust stroke is increased, utilizing the generated negative pressure to obtain braking force.
