Can the car still be driven when the coolant temperature warning light is on?

It is not recommended to continue driving when the coolant temperature warning light is on. The red warning light indicates that the coolant temperature is too high. High temperatures can easily cause some problems with the engine, such as cylinder head gasket failure leading to excessive clearance between mechanical components and seizure. If you must continue driving, you should wait for the engine temperature to drop and also check if the coolant level is sufficient. The coolant temperature gauge in a car indicates the temperature of the engine coolant. When the car is cold and just started, the coolant temperature is low and gradually rises. Generally, the vehicle automatically controls the temperature to maintain an equilibrium at around 90 degrees Celsius, at which point the engine operates at its highest efficiency.
