Temporary license plates can enter parking lots. If the parking lot has security personnel, simply ask them to open the gate. Typically, security will manually register vehicles with temporary plates entering the parking lot. If the parking lot does not have security, check if there is a card dispenser at the entrance. Press the button on the card dispenser, and the barrier will automatically lift. Fees will be automatically calculated upon exit. However, parking lots that rely on automatic license plate recognition systems will not allow entry because the machines cannot recognize temporary license plates. Temporary license plates serve as transitional plates for vehicle owners who have not yet obtained official plates. During this period, driving on the road requires the use of temporary plates, which carry the same legal effect as official plates. Once official plates are obtained, the temporary plates automatically become invalid, so it is essential to install the official plates as required by regulations immediately upon receipt. Validity Period of Temporary License Plates: For vehicles moving out of the jurisdiction of the vehicle management office, the validity period is 30 days. For reissuance or replacement of plates, inability to issue plates within the stipulated time, or within the same administrative jurisdiction, the validity period does not exceed 15 days. For cross-administrative jurisdiction, the validity period does not exceed 30 days. For research, prototype testing, or special-purpose motor vehicles, the validity period does not exceed 90 days. Regulations on Motor Vehicle Registration: Article 13 of the "Motor Vehicle Registration Regulations": If the residence of the motor vehicle owner moves out of the jurisdiction of the vehicle management office, the office shall, within three days from the date of acceptance, annotate the changes on the motor vehicle registration certificate, reclaim the license plate and driving license, issue a temporary driving license plate valid for 30 days, and hand over the motor vehicle file to the owner. Article 44: During the reissuance or replacement of license plates, a temporary driving license plate valid for no more than 15 days shall be issued. Article 46: For temporary driving within the same administrative jurisdiction, a temporary driving license plate valid for no more than 15 days shall be issued. For temporary driving across administrative jurisdictions, a temporary driving license plate valid for no more than 30 days shall be issued. For situations specified in Items (3) and (4) of Article 45 of these regulations, a temporary driving license plate valid for no more than 90 days shall be issued. Due to license plate production reasons, if plates cannot be issued within the stipulated time, the vehicle management office shall issue a temporary driving license plate valid for no more than 15 days.

Last time when I used the temporary license plate for my new car at the parking lot, the automatic gate got stuck. The security guard said the scanner couldn't recognize paper plates, and many smart systems are like this. Temporary plates are legal, but parking lots have the right to set policies to prevent risks like forgery issues. Now, before going, I’ve made it a habit to check the rules via a mobile app or call the management to ask. Ground parking lots without such equipment usually go smoothly. Remember to secure the paper plate firmly to prevent it from being blown away by the wind, which could affect recognition. As a car owner’s tip, you can bring the vehicle registration documents to prove identity. Generally, most parking lots allow entry with temporary plates, but if you encounter trouble, stay patient and discuss solutions.

What Causes Jerking During Automatic Transmission Gear Shifts?

Manual shifting difficulties may be caused by clutch issues or transmission malfunctions. If not due to mechanical failure, poor clutch operation techniques can also easily lead to jerking sensations. Clutch Fault Causes and Solutions: Clutch malfunction resulting in insufficient disengagement travel, leading to incomplete clutch separation and gear shifting failure. In this case, it's recommended to visit a repair shop for clutch release timing adjustment; Excessive self-locking force on the clutch side making gear engagement difficult. The solution is to adjust clutch cables and shift stop locks at a repair shop; Deformation of the clutch pressure plate assembly's drive disc causing poor separation. Replacement with a high-quality pressure plate matching the original specifications is advised. Transmission Fault Causes and Solutions: Transmission gear oil requires regular replacement. Delayed replacement significantly reduces lubrication effectiveness, greatly increasing shift resistance and causing rough gear changes. Cold shifts often make vehicle gears feel awkward since gear oil viscosity doesn't reach optimal levels at low temperatures, naturally resulting in poor lubrication and jerking sensations during shifts; Sometimes, wear in shift linkage mechanisms causes misalignment between gear lever position and actual transmission gears, making engagement difficult. If gears won't engage when depressing the clutch, immediate repair and adjustment of shift linkage mechanisms is necessary.

Can a Car Designed for 92 Octane Gasoline Use 95 Octane?

A car designed for 92 octane gasoline can use 95 octane, but it is not recommended. In unavoidable situations, using 95 octane once or twice is generally not a major issue. However, prolonged use can damage the engine's ignition system, including spark plugs, and negatively impact the engine's lifespan. Differences Between 95 Octane and 92 Octane Gasoline: 95 octane gasoline consists of 5% n-heptane and 95% isooctane, while 92 octane gasoline is composed of 8% n-heptane and 92% isooctane. Higher octane gasoline has greater anti-knock properties but is also more expensive. Due to its higher octane rating, 95 octane gasoline burns more easily and delivers more power compared to 92 octane. 95 and 92 Octane Gasoline Should Not Be Mixed Long-Term: Occasionally mixing the two in emergencies usually doesn't cause significant problems, but prolonged use can lead to engine knocking, insufficient power, and other issues. Similarly, a car designed for 95 octane gasoline using 92 octane occasionally won't have major problems, but long-term use increases the frequency of knocking and accelerates engine wear.

Is It Dangerous If a Car Battery Is Dropped?

Dropping a car battery is not very dangerous. Here is some information about car batteries: Introduction: A car battery, also known as a rechargeable battery, can be reused after discharging. Types include lead-acid batteries, nickel-iron batteries, and nickel-cadmium batteries. In a lead-acid battery, the positive electrode is lead dioxide, the negative electrode is lead, and the electrolyte is a dilute sulfuric acid solution. Principle: The negative electrode consists of a lead plate filled with sponge-like lead, while the positive electrode is a lead plate filled with lead dioxide, using 22–28% dilute sulfuric acid as the electrolyte. Misconception: The lifespan of a car battery depends not only on its structure and quality but also on proper usage and maintenance. Typically, a car battery lasts about 2 years, but with good maintenance, it can last 3–4 years.

How Long After Passing Subject Two Can You Schedule Subject Four?

You cannot directly schedule Subject Four after passing Subject Two; you must wait until Subject Three is completed and passed. Subject Two can be scheduled 10 days after passing Subject One, and Subject Three can be scheduled 30 days after passing Subject One. Subject Four can be scheduled the day after passing Subject Three. The same applies to reverse testing for Subjects Two and Three—Subject Four can be scheduled the day after passing either Subject Two or Subject Three. You can schedule Subject Four the day after passing Subject Two. However, passing Subject Two does not automatically qualify you to schedule Subject Four, as the prerequisite for taking the safety and civics knowledge test (Subject Four) is passing all three subjects: Subject One, Subject Two, and Subject Three. Only after the final exam is passed and the results are entered into the system can you schedule Subject Four. Theoretically, Subject Four can be scheduled as soon as the results are recorded in the system. Subject Four, also known as the theoretical driving test or driver's theory exam, is part of the motor vehicle driver's license assessment. After the implementation of the "Ministry of Public Security Order No. 139 of the People's Republic of China," Subject Three was divided into two parts: the road test and the safety and civics knowledge test, commonly referred to as "Subject Four." The Subject Four exam consists of 50 questions, primarily in the form of case studies, images, and animations, with a perfect score of 100 and a passing grade of 90.

What Lights Are Included in Headlights?

Headlights include LED lights, xenon lights, neon lights, etc. Different types of lights require different maintenance methods. It is important to pay close attention to the condition of the lights to avoid safety risks caused by light malfunctions. Below is an introduction to headlight maintenance: Daily Inspection: Carefully check whether the lights are functioning properly, such as turn signals, fog lights, and taillights. Additionally, inspect the headlight alignment for any deviation, ensure sufficient brightness, and check the sealing of the headlights to promptly identify issues and avoid unexpected problems. Regular Bulb Replacement: Car lights have a fixed lifespan. Beyond this period, even if they do not fail, they may dim, reducing the illumination distance, which directly affects nighttime driving. Generally, after driving 50,000 kilometers or about 2 years, the brightness of headlight bulbs will diminish. Frequent Cleaning of Light Covers: During driving, it is inevitable for water splashes or mud spots to land on the car. Although the light covers are well-sealed, dirt on them not only affects the vehicle's appearance but also directly impacts lighting conditions. Therefore, it is recommended to frequently clean the light covers.

What do the M and S on the car represent?

S gear represents the sports mode of the car. This gear enhances the car's performance but also increases fuel consumption; M gear switches to manual mode, but this is only available in semi-automatic transmissions. When the car is in S gear, the engine operates at a high RPM, leading to a significant increase in fuel injection. This inevitably results in higher fuel consumption. Although the car's speed will increase instantly, prolonged use with delayed upshifting can place a greater load on the car's transmission, leading to wear over time. During driving, the M gear represents the semi-automatic transmission, where M stands for manual mode, including M+ and M-. Simply put, it allows for both automatic and manual shifting. M+ and M- are only available in semi-automatic transmission models. If the gear lever is between the M+ and M- symbols, pushing it toward M+ will upshift by one gear, while pushing it toward M- will downshift by one gear. When overtaking, you can quickly switch to S/M mode, manually downshift, and utilize the transmission's lower gear ratio to output higher torque. This rapidly increases the engine RPM, improving the car's acceleration performance, reducing overtaking time, and enhancing safety. Shifting methods for manual transmission gears 1 to 5: To engage 1st gear, move the lever to the left and then push forward; for 2nd gear, move left and then push down; for 3rd gear, push straight up from the neutral position; for 4th gear, push straight down from the neutral position; for 5th gear, push straight to the right and then up.
