Can Temporary License Plates Be Used Across Cities?

Temporary license plates can be used across cities, but you need to specify the need for inter-city travel when applying for them. For motor vehicles that are unsold or obtained through purchase, transfer, or donation and have not yet been registered, if they need to be driven temporarily within the administrative jurisdiction, a temporary license plate with a validity period of no more than 15 days will be issued. If they need to be driven temporarily across administrative jurisdictions, a temporary license plate with a validity period of no more than 30 days will be issued. The paper motor vehicle license plate that permits temporary road use, also known as a temporary driving license plate, refers to the temporary vehicle driving certificate issued by the public security vehicle management department for newly purchased vehicles before formal registration.
