Can Off-Road Motorcycles Be Licensed for Road Use?

As long as the application materials are complete and comply with laws and administrative regulations, they can be licensed. Here are the relevant details: Regulations: Article 8 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that the state implements a registration system for motor vehicles. Motor vehicles can only be driven on the road after being registered by the traffic management department of the public security organ. For motor vehicles that have not yet been registered but need to be driven on the road temporarily, a temporary pass must be obtained. Off-Road Motorcycles: Off-road motorcycles fall under the category of ordinary two-wheeled motorcycles and, according to regulations, require a blue license plate. If driven on the road without a license plate, the vehicle may be impounded and fined, and it will only be released by the traffic police after providing legal documentation. Additionally, off-road motorcycles require at least an ordinary two-wheeled motorcycle E license or higher to be driven. Otherwise, if caught by the police, the driver may face fines and up to 15 days of detention.
