Can NCM Format Be Used in Cars?

NCM format cannot be used in cars. Car owners can convert NCM format music to MP3. The specific conversion method is as follows: 1. Click on the Windows icon at the bottom left of the computer, then select Start, All Programs, Format Factory to open the Format Factory software; 2. Select the Audio option, then choose the MP3 button; 3. Select the Add File option, open the directory where the NCM format music is located, and set the file format after the file name to All Files; 4. After selecting, click Open, then return to the MP3 window and click the OK button to complete the conversion.
When using my car's infotainment system, I found that NetEase Cloud Music's NCM format can't be played directly—it's a platform-specific encrypted format. My solution is to use a format converter on my computer to convert NCM files to MP3 or FLAC, then save them to a USB drive for playback in the car. Last time I tried screen mirroring via CarPlay, the phone-side NetEase Cloud Music could play, but there was audio delay through the car speakers, and the sound quality was compromised. Actually, it mainly depends on whether the car's system supports third-party app installations. For example, Android-based car systems can install the NetEase Cloud Music car version, but factory-sealed systems are basically a dead end. Recently, I also discovered that some car audio DSP processors can bypass format restrictions, though professional modification is required.
