Jiangsu does not allow motorcycles on highways. The National Traffic Safety Law explicitly states that motorcycles with speeds below 60 km/h are prohibited from traveling on highways. Additional information: Legal provisions: Article 78, Section 5 of the "Regulations for the Implementation of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China" stipulates that highways shall indicate the speed limits for lanes, with the maximum speed not exceeding 120 km/h and the minimum speed not below 60 km/h. Provinces where motorcycles are allowed on highways: In China, motorcycles are permitted on highways in Fujian Province, Shaanxi Province, Tianjin, Shanghai, Chongqing, Tibet Autonomous Region, and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Motorcycles are not allowed on Jiangsu's expressways, primarily for safety reasons. Having driven for so many years, I've witnessed numerous accidents caused by motorcycles on the expressway. At such high speeds, the strong wind resistance can easily cause motorcycles to lose control and overturn. In the event of a collision with other vehicles, riders have virtually no protection, resulting in extremely high risks of injury or death. Additionally, the complex traffic flow means car drivers might overlook motorcycles, leading to rear-end collisions. Jiangsu's expressway surveillance is strict; if caught, not only will you face fines and points deducted, but your vehicle may also be towed. It's advisable to check local regulations before traveling and opt for national or provincial highways when riding, prioritizing safety. Remember, always wear a helmet and full protective gear, but absolutely avoid expressways—take responsibility for your life.

Regarding the question of whether motorcycles are allowed on Jiangsu expressways, based on my understanding of traffic regulations such as the Road Traffic Safety Law, most expressway sections nationwide prohibit motorcycles, and Jiangsu is no exception. With a design speed exceeding 120 km/h, motorcycles have poor stability and inferior braking performance compared to cars, making them prone to causing chain accidents. Jiangsu traffic police enforce the law strictly—getting caught once not only results in a 200-yuan fine but also affects your vehicle insurance costs. In the long run, such regulations help reduce overall traffic accident rates and protect all road users. When planning your trip, it's safer to use a mobile map app to select routes avoiding expressways or switch to public transport or car-sharing services. While riding a motorcycle is fun, it's not worth the risk of taking it on the expressway.

My friend tried riding a motorcycle on the highway in Jiangsu last year, but was stopped and fined at the entrance. Since then, we've stuck to regular roads. The high speeds on the highway make motorcycles feel unstable, especially in rainy weather when it's even more dangerous. Jiangsu has strict highway controls, and if you encounter water spray from large vehicles, a fall could be disastrous. It's advisable for riders to familiarize themselves with local traffic regulations, check provincial road routes before departure, and avoid taking chances. Always wear a helmet and protective gear to ensure safe riding, but definitely avoid highway sections.
