Can I Use Tap Water for Windshield Wipers?

Windshield wipers should not be filled with tap water; instead, use dedicated windshield washer fluid. The working principle of windshield wipers is: the motor drives the output shaft via a worm gear on the armature shaft, controlling the idler gear and idler shaft to drive the output gear, thereby achieving the effect of the output shaft manipulating the wiper linkage output arm. When the motor rotates, the output arm and linkage are driven to move back and forth. Windshield wipers are blade structures installed in front of the windshield, consisting of a motor, reducer, four-bar linkage, wiper arm spindle, and wiper blade assembly. The functions of windshield wipers include: 1. Helping the vehicle maintain a safe distance from the centerline of the left lane; 2. Assisting the driver in determining the position of the left wheels; 3. Aiding in judging the position of the right wheels.
