It is not recommended to use S gear on the highway. The correct usage of S gear is: 1. For short-distance competitive driving; 2. When climbing slopes, overtaking, or driving on rough roads requiring stronger traction. S gear represents the sport mode in automatic transmissions. When engaged, it maintains higher engine RPM for a period to enhance vehicle power. Other transmission positions include: 1. P (Parking/Starting gear) for long-term parking; 2. R (Reverse gear) for reversing; 3. N (Neutral gear) for short stops; 4. D (Drive gear) for normal forward driving; 5. L (Low gear) for uphill/downhill driving; 6. M (Manual mode) allowing manual gear shifting.
