Temporary ID cards are acceptable for the Subject 4 exam, as they hold the same legal validity as permanent ID cards. Simply visit any public security bureau with your household registration booklet, a recent one-inch black-and-white photo without headwear, and pay a 10 RMB document fee to obtain a temporary ID card on the same day. The Subject 4 exam consists of 50 questions presented in formats such as case studies, images, and animations. The total score is 100 points, with a passing mark of 90. Subject 4, also known as the theoretical driving test or driver's theory exam, is part of the motor vehicle driver's license assessment. After the implementation of the Ministry of Public Security's Order No. 123, the Subject 3 test was divided into two parts: the road test and an additional safety and civics knowledge test, commonly referred to as "Subject 4," which evaluates "driving ethics." Since this test follows Subject 3, it is colloquially called Subject 4, although officially, there is no such designation. Failing Subject 4 does not require retaking previously passed subjects (Subject 1, Subject 2, Subject 3). You can schedule a retake on your own without additional fees. There are no limits on the number of retakes, but the driving skills test permit is valid for three years. If the applicant fails to complete all tests within this period, the results of any passed subjects will be voided.

I specifically asked about this when I was getting my driver's license. A temporary ID card is theoretically valid, but in practice, it often causes issues. Many test centers' systems can't read the chip in temporary IDs, or staff strictly follow old rules, leading to candidates being denied entry. Last year, a friend from our driving school had to go through the process twice because of this, so I wouldn't recommend taking the risk. To be safe, it's best to get a formal ID card. If time is tight, at least call the test center a day in advance to confirm their policy, and bring your household registration booklet as a backup. After all, once you pass the subject four test, you can get your license—don't let a document hold you back from this important milestone.

What Are the Reasons for Stiff Car Brakes?

Car brakes becoming stiff mainly due to the following reasons: 1. Brake pads thinning, poor quality of brake pads, foreign objects in the brake pads, or rust on the brake discs, etc. In general cases, pressing the brakes a few more times can alleviate the abnormal noise. 2. Increased pedal travel during braking. The main reasons for increased brake travel are air entering the brake system, insufficient brake fluid, possible leaks, or severe wear of the brake pads. 3. Braking deviation. Mainly caused by uneven wear of the brake pads or issues with the brake calipers. 4. Brakes becoming hard. Primarily due to a failure of the vacuum booster, resulting in no power assistance for the brakes, or caused by frequent braking. 5. Rebound when pressing the brakes. Mostly due to uneven surfaces of the brake discs or pads, or deformation of the wheel rims.

How often should the spark plugs be replaced in a Volkswagen Golf 6?

Volkswagen Golf 6 should have its spark plugs replaced after driving approximately 40,000 to 50,000 kilometers. If the car is used more frequently, the spark plugs can also be replaced around 30,000 kilometers to ensure the ignition system works better. When the spark plugs malfunction, the car may exhibit symptoms such as abnormal shaking while driving, difficulty starting, failure to start, unusual engine noises, and weak acceleration. It is important to inspect and repair these issues promptly. The Golf 6 is a key model among Volkswagen's domestic lineup, abandoning the brand's signature large U-shaped front grille. The entire front styling is more reminiscent of the Volkswagen Scirocco, while the side profile resembles the domestically produced fourth-generation Golf. The clever use of waistline detailing gives the new car a slimmer side appearance.
