Driver's license cannot be renewed during the extension period. Validity period of driver's license: Article 56 of the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses": If a motor vehicle driver has not accumulated 12 penalty points in each scoring cycle during the six-year validity period of the motor vehicle driver's license, the driver's license shall be renewed with a ten-year validity period; if the driver has not accumulated 12 penalty points in each scoring cycle during the ten-year validity period of the motor vehicle driver's license, the driver's license shall be renewed with a long-term validity period. Penalties for expired driver's license: Driving a motor vehicle is not allowed during the expired period, otherwise it may be treated as driving without a license. If the driver's license has been expired for less than one year, the driver can renew it at any time, but if driving on the road, a fine of 200 yuan will be imposed. If the driver's license has been expired for more than one year without renewal, the traffic management department will cancel it according to the law. If the expiration period is less than three years, the driver must pass the re-examination of Subject 1 to restore the driving qualification. Driving on the road during this period will result in a fine ranging from 200 to 2,000 yuan. If the driver's license has been expired for more than three years, it will be completely canceled, and the driver must retake the driver's license test to drive again. Otherwise, driving on the road will be treated as driving without a license, with a fine of 2,000 yuan and administrative detention for up to 15 days.

I remember that my driver's license was about to expire two years ago, so I applied for a six-month extension, thinking it would be convenient to renew it during that period. However, when I went to the DMV, the staff shook their heads and said I couldn’t renew the license during the extension because the system had locked the status. This made me feel particularly awkward, as I had to wait until the extension ended to proceed. They explained that the extension is a buffer period for special circumstances, such as being away on business and unable to handle it in time. But renewing the license is an independent process, and mixing the two could mess up the records. At the time, I was worried about being checked by traffic police, but a friend assured me that as long as the license status was normal, it wouldn’t be a problem—though it’s best not to push it. After the extension, I simply waited until expiration to renew, preparing materials like the medical report, photos, and ID in advance to avoid further issues. Driving safety comes first, so I later followed the rules properly, avoiding the risk of fines and keeping my mind at ease.

Based on my driving experience, I genuinely don't recommend renewing your license during the extension period. The reason is straightforward: traffic regulations don't allow overlapping procedures. Once you apply for an extension, the system marks it as temporarily valid. If you attempt to renew midway, the application might get rejected outright, making the trip pointless. I've seen many novices get anxious over this, some even receiving fines for illegal driving. Extensions are meant for emergencies, like post-accident recovery periods—don't treat them as routine. It's better to plan your renewal ahead of time rather than wait until the last minute. With all documents ready, standard renewal is more reliable and hassle-free. Always check the local DMV website for policy updates, but generally, avoid unnecessary risks. Years of driving have taught me that license management can't be careless—one mistake could disrupt travel or even compromise safety.

Can I renew my driver's license during the extension period? Generally not possible, because the traffic management system is designed to handle only single status changes. The extension already covers the expiration issue, while renewal requires initiating a brand-new process - these two operations conflict and may cause invalidation. Based on my understanding of DMV rules, this could easily create confusing records and might even trigger system errors. My suggestion is to wait until the extension period ends before applying for renewal. Maintain your license's valid status during this period and avoid any additional operations. If urgent updates are needed, consulting professionals would be safest. But overall, prioritize completing the original extension before processing a new license. This helps avoid legal troubles and unexpected delays.

What is the label for fully synthetic engine oil?

Fully synthetic engine oil does not have a specific label, but the bottle will directly indicate "fully synthetic" on its exterior. The functions of fully synthetic engine oil are: 1. Between the piston and cylinder of the engine, as well as between the main shaft and bearings, there is rapid relative sliding. The oil forms a sufficiently thick oil film between the two sliding surfaces, separating the surfaces of the relatively sliding parts to reduce wear. 2. It carries heat back to the oil tank and dissipates it into the air, helping the radiator to cool the engine. 3. It cycles carbon deposits, sludge, and worn metal particles from engine parts back to the oil tank, using the flow of the lubricating oil to wash away contaminants generated on the working surfaces of the parts. 4. It provides shock absorption and cushioning. When the pressure at the engine cylinder port rises sharply, suddenly increasing the load on the piston, piston chips, connecting rod, and crankshaft bearings, the load is transmitted through the bearings' lubrication to cushion the impact load.

What to Do If You Accidentally Fill a Car Requiring 95 Octane with 92 Octane?

If a car that requires 95 octane gasoline is accidentally filled with 92 octane, do not start the vehicle. Immediately contact a 4S shop or a maintenance technician to drain and clean the fuel tank and fuel lines, followed by a comprehensive engine inspection. The consequences of using 92 octane in a car designed for 95 octane include: 1. Reduced engine power. 2. Lower idle speed. 3. Increased fuel consumption. 4. Engine stalling or failure to start. Introduction to gasoline: 1. Gasoline is refined from various petroleum-derived components such as straight-run gasoline, catalytic cracking gasoline, and catalytic reforming gasoline, blended with high-octane components. 2. Gasoline is primarily used as fuel for spark-ignition internal combustion engines in automobiles.

What Type of Engine Oil is Best for the First Car Maintenance?

Every vehicle comes with a manufacturer-recommended standard original engine oil. If not specifically specified, using the original engine oil is sufficient for both the first maintenance and subsequent regular services. Types of engine oil: Mineral Oil: Mineral oil is directly refined from crude oil without the addition of other additives. It is suitable for low-displacement, non-turbocharged vehicles or those with infrequent usage, typically around 5,000 kilometers in half a year. If you don't drive often, mineral oil offers the best economic value. Semi-Synthetic Oil: Semi-synthetic oil is a blended product made by mixing mineral oil and full synthetic oil through a compounding process. It offers the best cost-performance ratio and is a great choice for drivers who frequently use their cars. Its oil change interval is around 7,500 kilometers, making it suitable for most vehicle models. Full Synthetic Oil: Full synthetic oil is more expensive compared to the previous two types but offers superior performance. Whether in terms of stability, lubrication, low-temperature performance, or cleanliness, it far outperforms mineral oil and semi-synthetic oil. Its replacement interval exceeds 10,000 kilometers, and many car owners experience noticeable performance improvements after switching to full synthetic oil.

Why does the screen go black when connecting Apple CarPlay to the car?

The main reasons for the black screen when connecting Apple CarPlay to the car are: In-vehicle computer crash: As modern cars have numerous electronic components, especially with the continuous updates of car connectivity systems, many vehicles' multimedia systems have become increasingly complex, leading to more frequent occurrences of dashboard screen malfunctions. You can try turning off and restarting the vehicle and its onboard computer to see if the screen display recovers. If the problem persists after repeated attempts, schedule a visit to a 4S shop for module inspection, software refresh, or repair. Connector detachment: Since many wiring connections use direct plug-in connectors, they may become detached or loose due to bumpy road conditions or original installation quality issues, resulting in dashboard screen failure. This can only be resolved by visiting a 4S shop or repair shop to disassemble the rear of the screen and securely reconnect the connectors.

Why does the steering wheel shake when the car reaches 100 km/h?

In most cases, steering wheel vibration at 100 km/h is caused by wheel dynamic balance issues. The solution is to add counterweights to the wheels while they are in motion to correct the balance at various edge points - this process is called dynamic balancing. Other possible causes include shock absorber failure, frame deformation, or excessive clearance between the driving and driven gears of the final drive. It is recommended that owners regularly perform dynamic balance checks on their wheels. The dynamic balancing procedure is as follows: 1. Remove the logo in the center of the hub, install the dynamic balancer for measurement, and input the data. 2. Measure the rim width and input the data. 3. According to the computer-calculated data, add appropriate dynamic balance weights to both the inner and outer sides of the rim. When the re-test meets the standard, the process is complete.
