Practicing driving for Subject 2 on rainy days is common as students usually train daily to obtain their motor vehicle driver's license as soon as possible. Rainy weather does not affect the training. If it rains during the actual test, the examination will proceed normally. The Subject 2 test includes: reversing into left and right garages, parallel parking, curve driving, right-angle turns, and stopping and starting on a slope. Subject 2, also known as the small road test, primarily assesses the mastery of vehicle driving skills and the ability to judge spatial positions. It requires the examinee to drive the vehicle in a designated area and consists of five tasks with two attempts allowed.
When I was practicing Subject 2, it happened to be raining, but the driving school arranged for training as usual, saying light rain was no problem and could even help with getting a feel for driving. The instructor reminded me to drive slowly and be cautious of slippery roads to avoid skidding, such as being more gentle with the accelerator and clutch during hill starts. I brought an umbrella and spare clothes, and after getting into the car, turning on the AC to defog felt okay. Although visibility was a bit blurry, this kind of practice is beneficial for real-life driving in the future, learning to control the vehicle in bad weather. It's advisable to check with the driving school for specific rules, as some may suspend training during heavy rain to avoid a wasted trip. Remember, safety comes first—don’t rush any maneuvers.
