Can I Go Directly to the Vehicle Inspection Station for the Seventh-Year Inspection?

The seventh-year vehicle inspection does not require going directly to the vehicle inspection station; instead, you can have your vehicle tested at a vehicle inspection agency. An annual vehicle inspection refers to the yearly examination of vehicles that have already obtained official license plates and registration certificates, conducted according to the safety technical conditions for motor vehicle operation. The purpose is to check the vehicle's technical condition, enhance maintenance, ensure the vehicle remains in good condition, and guarantee safe driving. During the inspection, the vehicle's exterior, chassis, lighting system, braking system, and exhaust emissions are checked. If the vehicle's exhaust emissions do not meet the standards, it will not pass the inspection. Similarly, if the vehicle has undergone certain modifications, it will also fail the inspection. To pass, the vehicle must be restored to its original condition.
I just finished the 7th annual inspection for my car, and this is definitely not something to take lightly. The 7th year indeed requires an on-site inspection because new cars are exempt from actual vehicle checks for the first six years, only requiring a waiver. Starting from the 7th year, you must drive to the inspection station in person. You can go directly, but booking an appointment online or by phone in advance will save you time and avoid long queues on-site. Remember to bring your vehicle license, copy of compulsory traffic insurance, and ID card. Basic items like lights, brakes, and emissions are checked very strictly. My advice is to do a self-check before going, such as ensuring the lights work and the brakes are responsive, to avoid getting stuck with repeated repairs. Inspection stations are packed on weekends, so avoiding peak times can speed things up. To be safe, it’s also worth getting a pre-inspection at a reliable repair shop.
