Can I Get a Motorcycle License While Obtaining a Car Driver's License?

You cannot obtain a motorcycle license while in the process of getting a car driver's license. According to the 'Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses', when applying to add additional permitted vehicle types to an existing license, the applicant must not have accumulated 12 penalty points in the current scoring cycle or the most recent scoring cycle prior to application. This means that the first year after obtaining a driver's license is considered a probationary period, during which you cannot apply for licenses for other permitted vehicle types. After holding a C1 driver's license for one full year, provided you have not accumulated 12 penalty points, you may apply to add a motorcycle license at the issuing authority of your driver's license. Required documents for application include: ID card; physical condition certificate for drivers; three recent one-inch color passport photos with white background. The motorcycle license examination consists of: Subject 1: Examination on road traffic safety laws, regulations, and related knowledge. Subject 2: Field skills test, including stake test, slope parking and starting, and single-plank bridge crossing. Subject 3: The content of Subject 3 is determined by the provincial traffic management department of public security authorities, with no unified standard. Subject 4: Examination on safety and civilized driving knowledge, safe driving skills in complex conditions, and emergency handling procedures.
