Can I get a motorcycle license after obtaining a car driver's license?

You cannot immediately apply for a motorcycle license after obtaining a car driver's license. You must wait until you have not accumulated 12 penalty points within a scoring cycle before you can apply for an additional motorcycle license. Using a C1 driver's license to operate a motorcycle is considered unlicensed driving. The C1 license will be deducted 12 points at once, along with a fine. According to the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Public Security, a C driver's license allows the operation of small cars, small automatic transmission cars, low-speed trucks, and three-wheeled cars. However, three-wheeled motorcycles require a D license, two-wheeled motorcycles require an E license, and light motorcycles require an F license. Therefore, legally speaking, holding a C license does not permit driving motorcycles. The vehicles allowed under a C1 license include those with blue license plates, such as small vehicles with blue plates; all small automatic or manual transmission cars; and light, small, or micro special-purpose vehicles. There are three types of motorcycle licenses: A D license allows the operation of ordinary three-wheeled motorcycles and vehicles permitted under an E license; an E license allows the operation of ordinary two-wheeled motorcycles and vehicles permitted under an F license; an F license allows the operation of light motorcycles but does not permit driving D/E type vehicles.
