Can I directly obtain an A2 license?

You cannot directly obtain an A2 license. The A2 driving license is for tractor-trailers and cannot be applied for directly; it can only be obtained through an additional driving qualification process. To obtain an A2 driving license, the following conditions must be met: 1. Applicant's physical conditions: Age must be between 24 and 50 years old. Height must be at least 155 cm. Both eyes must have uncorrected or corrected visual acuity of at least 5.0 on the logarithmic visual acuity chart. 2. Current driving license status: Must have held a B1 or B2 license for at least three years, or an A1 license for at least one year, with no record of accumulating 12 penalty points in any of the last three scoring cycles before application.
It depends on whether you have other driver's licenses before. The A2 license is for heavy motorcycles, and I just successfully upgraded mine last month. If you're a complete beginner with zero experience, you can't directly take the A2 test. According to regulations, you must first obtain the regular two-wheel motorcycle E license, wait for one year before upgrading, and you must be at least 18 years old. I enrolled in a three-wheel motorcycle training course at the driving school, as practicing with a three-wheeler is more stable for the test. I recommend checking the local policies at the vehicle management office first—some places allow simultaneous learning for E and D licenses, but jumping straight to A2 is generally not feasible.
My daughter also wanted to get this license recently and did some research. According to current traffic regulations, first-time applicants for a motorcycle license can only apply for either an E-class or F-class license, which are for regular two-wheeled motorcycles or light motorcycles respectively. To ride those heavy motorcycles with engine displacements above 400cc, you must hold an E-class license for at least one year before applying for an upgrade, and you'll need to pass all tests from subject one to subject four. However, if you already have a B-class car driver's license, you can directly upgrade to a D-class license for three-wheeled motorcycles, but upgrading to A2 still requires following the standard procedure.
As a veteran rider with ten years of motorcycle experience, I must remind you: the A2 license is not something you can just decide to get. A few days ago, my friend took his son to sign up and got rejected—minors can't even take the test for a regular two-wheeler. Even if you're over 18, you need to first obtain a basic motorcycle license and ride for at least a year before you qualify. I suggest you start by getting an E license to practice, buy a street bike under 250cc to get familiar with handling, and only consider upgrading once your skills are solid. Heavy motorcycles accelerate too aggressively, making them too dangerous for beginners.
