Can I change the vehicle registration certificate after modifying the wheel hubs?

Vehicle wheel hub modifications do not require registration changes, hence there is no need to replace the vehicle registration certificate. Relevant knowledge is as follows: Regulations: According to Article 10 of the "Regulations on the Registration of Motor Vehicles", registered motor vehicles must apply for registration changes under the following circumstances. Regulation Content: (1) Changing the body color; (2) Replacing the engine; (3) Replacing the body or frame; (4) Replacing the entire vehicle due to quality issues; (5) Changing the use nature of the vehicle, such as from commercial to non-commercial or vice versa; (6) The vehicle owner's residence moves out of or into the jurisdiction of the vehicle management office.
A friend of mine recently went through the hassle of changing wheels. To be honest, getting the vehicle registration updated after wheel modifications is pretty much impossible in China. The DMV only checks if the wheel size matches the factory specifications. If you install wheels of a different size, forget about updating the registration—you won't even pass the annual inspection. Some car owners think swapping to wheels of the same size but different style is fine, but in reality, traffic police will still pull you over, especially if the wheel design is too flashy. If you're really into modifications, my advice is to use them for now and switch back to the original wheels before the annual inspection—it's the easiest way. Also, a heads-up: if you're caught with illegal modifications on the road, you'll get at least 1 point deducted, and it might even affect your insurance rates.
