Can I Change the Engine Oil Without Replacing the Oil Filter?

You cannot change the engine oil without replacing the oil filter. During operation, the high-speed rotation of the engine generates fine metal wear particles and other impurities that are trapped in the filter. If the filter is not replaced, it will affect the oil filtration efficiency, allowing some fine metal particles to bypass the filter and increase the impurity content in the oil, thereby reducing its effectiveness. Although modern car manufacturing processes have improved, this does not mean the oil filter can be used for two consecutive oil changes. On the contrary, cars now have higher requirements for both oil and filters. Changing the oil without replacing the filter will allow contaminants from the old filter to re-enter the fresh oil during circulation, rendering the oil change meaningless.
