Beijing plug-in hybrid vehicles can obtain green license plates. Hybrid vehicles are divided into plug-in hybrids and range-extended hybrids. Plug-in hybrids are considered new energy vehicles and can get green plates, along with certain national subsidies. Hybrid vehicles, also known as composite power vehicles, are equipped with more than one power source: storage batteries, fuel cells, solar cells, and generator sets of internal combustion locomotives. Currently, composite power vehicles generally refer to those with an internal combustion locomotive generator plus storage batteries. License plates, commonly known as car plates, are panels hung on the front and rear of a vehicle, usually made of aluminum, sheet iron, plastic, or paper, engraved with the vehicle's registration number, registration region, or other relevant information.
