Guangdong Z license plates cannot be used nationwide. Vehicles with Guangdong Z license plates are only allowed to operate within cities in Guangdong Province. Driving beyond the boundaries of Guangdong Province is considered a traffic violation of "operating a motor vehicle without license plates." The issuance of Guangdong Z license plates itself is intended to promote exchanges in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. However, due to differences in the transportation systems of the two regions, complete unification in terms of passage cannot be achieved. Conditions for Hong Kong vehicles to apply for Guangdong Z license plates: 1. Overseas investors who have invested in Guangdong Province and have accumulated tax payments of more than 100,000 RMB within 3 years (including the application year) can apply for one mainland business vehicle license plate during the validity period of the contract; 2. Those with accumulated tax payments of more than 500,000 RMB can apply for a second license plate; 3. Those with accumulated tax payments of more than 1 million RMB can apply for a third license plate.
