Fog lights and hazard lights cannot be turned on at the same time. Conditions for turning on fog lights: According to traffic regulations, when visibility is between 100 to 200 meters, fog lights, low beams, width indicators, and taillights must be turned on, with speed not exceeding 60 km/h and maintaining a distance of more than 100 meters from the vehicle ahead. When visibility is between 50 to 100 meters, fog lights, low beams, width indicators, and taillights must be turned on, with speed not exceeding 40 km/h and maintaining a distance of more than 50 meters from the vehicle ahead. Misuse of fog lights incurs a minimum fine of 50 yuan and 1 penalty point. Under good visibility conditions, the use of fog lights is strictly prohibited. This is because the red light from fog lights can cause actual harm to human eyes when directly exposed without the attenuation from fog, rain, or snow. Conditions for turning on hazard lights: Temporary parking. Towing a malfunctioning vehicle. Vehicle breakdown or traffic accident. Forming a convoy permitted by traffic police authorities. On highways, when visibility is less than 100 meters and speed is below 40 km/h.
