Can engine oil be changed once a year?

The oil change interval mainly depends on the type of oil used. There are three types of engine oil: mineral oil, semi-synthetic oil, and full synthetic oil. The details are as follows: 1. Mineral oil is generally changed every 5,000 kilometers or 3 months. 2. Semi-synthetic oil is usually changed every 7,500 kilometers or 6 months. 3. Full synthetic oil is typically changed every 10,000 kilometers or 1 year. If the vehicle has a turbocharged engine, full synthetic oil must be used because turbochargers operate at high temperatures and high speeds, requiring excellent lubrication performance from the oil. Therefore, full synthetic oil is essential. For naturally aspirated engines, either full synthetic or semi-synthetic oil can be used.
