Can different types of engine oil be mixed?

Engine oils can be mixed but it is not recommended. Different types of oils contain different chemical substances, and mixing them may lead to accidents, posing significant safety hazards. Therefore, mixing should be avoided as much as possible, otherwise it would be difficult to accurately assess the oil quality. In special circumstances where mixing is necessary, some mixing principles can be followed. Mixing principles: 1. The quality of similar products is basically the same, or when high-quality oil is mixed with low-quality oil, it is still used as low-quality oil; 2. Adjust the physical and chemical properties of the oil, such as viscosity, so that different grades of the same oil can be mixed; 3. Different types of oils can generally be mixed if it is known that neither of the two mixed oils contains additives, or one of them does not contain additives, or both contain additives but do not react with each other. However, the quality of the high-quality oil will be reduced after mixing; 4. Ordinary mineral oils can be mixed, and more mixing can be done between mineral oils and semi-synthetic oils.
