Zhejiang implemented the China VI emission standard on July 1, 2019, meaning that China V vehicles could no longer be licensed from that date. However, China V vehicles that were sold and had the unified motor vehicle invoice issued before July 1, 2019, as well as those transferred from other provinces that meet the China V emission standard, could still be registered or transferred by the traffic management department of the public security authority before October 1, 2019 (excluding that date). The following is an introduction to the China VI standard: The China VI standard references both the Euro 6c standard for emission limits and the OBD and evaporative emission requirements of the North American EPA Tier 3 standard, making it known as the strictest emission standard globally. Additionally, because the China VI standard represents a significant upgrade from China V, it is divided into two phases: China VIa and China VIb. In the China VIb phase, many indicators are 50% stricter than those of the China V standard.
