Can China IV Motorcycles Be Licensed?
1 Answers
The registration period for China IV motorcycles is three months, during which they can be successfully licensed. Motorcycles are classified as motor vehicles and cannot be driven on the road without a license. If the registration is not completed within three months, a late fee must be paid for the motorcycle, and the license should be promptly obtained. The implementation of the China IV emission standard began on July 1, 2010, and the nationwide implementation of the China V standard started on July 1, 2017. Therefore, vehicles produced between 2011 and 2017 generally meet the China IV emission standard. However, this is not entirely the case, as emission standard timelines vary across different regions in the country. Starting from July 1, 2019, the national 'Limits and Measurement Methods for Motorcycle Pollutant Emissions (China IV)' stipulates that all motorcycles sold and registered must comply with the China IV emission standard.
