Can Car Colors Be Changed at Will?

Car colors cannot be changed arbitrarily. If you wish to alter the body color of your vehicle, you must first register and file the change with the vehicle management office. According to Article 10 of the "Motor Vehicle Registration Regulations," failure to register changes such as body color, engine replacement, or modifications to the body or frame within the stipulated time frame with the traffic police department will result in penalties from the public security traffic management authorities under the "Motor Vehicle Registration Regulations." Additional Information: 1. The new "Road Traffic Safety Law" explicitly states that no unit or individual may assemble motor vehicles or alter the registered structure, construction, or characteristics of a motor vehicle without authorization. The structure of a vehicle includes four rigid standards: body color, length, width, and height, as well as the relevant technical parameters of the engine. 2. Before modifying a licensed vehicle, you must submit a registration application to the vehicle management office. The modification can only proceed after the technical report is reviewed and approved by the office. After the modification is completed, you must also complete the modification change procedures with the vehicle management office. 3. The legality of vehicle modifications depends on whether the vehicle matches the photo on the driving license and the technical parameters from the manufacturer. If it does not match, the vehicle will not pass the annual inspection.
