An expired ID card cannot be used for the Subject 2 test. According to relevant regulations, first-time applicants for a driver's license must submit their identity proof. An expired ID card does not have legal validity, and the staff at the test center will check the validity of the candidate's documents before the exam. Legal basis: Article 11 of the "Resident Identity Card Law of the People's Republic of China" states that when the state decides to issue a new generation of resident identity cards, when the resident identity card expires, when a citizen's name is changed, or when the card is severely damaged and cannot be recognized, the citizen shall apply for a new card; if there is an error in the registration items of the resident identity card, the public security organ shall promptly correct it and issue a new card; when receiving the new card, the original card must be surrendered. If a resident identity card is lost, a replacement must be applied for. Subject 2 test content: The field driving skills test (Subject 2) is conducted in a real vehicle within the test site. The results are only categorized as pass or fail.
