Can Alcohol Wipes Be Kept in the Car?

Alcohol wipes can be kept in the car, but they must be used correctly: 1. Ensure proper ventilation inside the car, as a high concentration of alcohol vapor in an enclosed space can easily lead to a fire; 2. During summer, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can raise the car's interior temperature to 60-70 degrees Celsius. When exposed to prolonged sunlight or high temperatures, alcohol-containing items like wipes can expand and potentially explode, causing a fire; 3. Avoid purchasing large quantities of alcohol, as it is a flammable and volatile liquid. Storing large amounts of alcohol at home can pose safety risks. For household disinfection, opt for small bottles of alcohol or alcohol wipes to clean areas that need sanitizing.
I personally recommend not keeping alcohol wipes in the car for extended periods, mainly because during summer, the interior temperature can soar above 60°C. Alcohol itself is flammable, and under such high temperatures, the alcohol in the wipes can easily evaporate into gas. Once it reaches a certain concentration, just a small spark could ignite a fire, which is extremely dangerous. Additionally, if the wipe packaging isn’t sealed properly, the alcohol will evaporate faster, causing the wipes to dry out and become ineffective, while leaving behind a pungent odor in the car. If you need to store them temporarily, be sure to place them in a cool spot like the glove compartment, or opt for alcohol-free wipes for added safety. It’s better to keep non-alcohol cleaning supplies in the car regularly and avoid taking such risks—safety first. The car’s interior is small, highly enclosed, and experiences significant temperature fluctuations, so extra caution is needed when storing items.
